What God Breathe He Receives…
Lev 9:23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.
Lev 9:24 And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. The Shekinah cloud or glory of the Lord had manifested in the presence of them all. After Aaron offered the sin offering, the burnt offering and the peace offerings (Leviticus 9:23) it was received as a sweet smelling incense, because the Lord ordained it so. God only receives what comes from him. Gary C. Price, Pastor of omegaministries.org quoted, “What God doesn’t breathe, God does not receive, and I agree. God received their offering because he breathed it, commanded it and Aaron obeyed what was asked of him. What were the results of Aaron's obedience? The results, as stated in the bible were it caused ALL the people to shout and to humble themselves in the presence of the Holy God--with the exception of two brothers. There had just been a great manifestation of God presence. It was a time to go face down, so to speak, and to humbly acknowledge the Lord as the only true and wise God. But Nadab and Abihu, offered strange incense to the Lord. At that time, only the priest were suppose to offer the sacrifice, but they took matters into their own hands-- they decided to do and give God what they wanted him to have. Such danger! They believed that since they were able to pass their father the blood of the animals that were slaughtered (Leviticus 9:18) it authorized them to put fire in the censers. They did not distinguish between what was holy and what was common. When we choose to do things our way, and rebel against what is true which Jesus is, there will be destructive consequences for the rebellious act of strange worship.
As a result, of the strange incense which Aaron sons offered resulted in their death. Proverbs 14: 12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death".
The Lord is seeking for sincere worshippers with a repentant heart. You see, it is past the time of giving the Lord what we want him to have. For example, offering up secular music and calling it gospel music, allowing R&B, rap and all sort of strange fire in his presence. He is requiring us to present our lives as a living sacrifice unto him. As psalmist, worship leaders and worshippers, He will give us a new song, if we would but come into his presence and worship as he has commanded us to--in spirit and truth. If there are areas that you have not totally given over to the Lord, and you are sincere to let go, he will deliver you. As he has promised in his word, In Isaiah 42:3…” A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench”. This is great news! But, you must be willing to repent and not just present what you think God wants. But be willing to offer what the Lord requires, which is your body as a living sacrifice. “Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies all your members and faculties as a living sacrifice, holy devoted consecrated and well pleasing to God which is your reasonable service and spiritual worship “Let us not be as Nadab and Abihu offering up strange fire, so to speak. But let us return to the Lord with a repentant heart, respect and reverence of his holiness. Let us not take for granted the privileged position that we have as New Testament priest with a repent heart--being able to come boldly before the throne of grace. Remember, worship without obedience is sin and equates to offering strange incense. Foreverworship!
