 My Simple Prayer…

The book of Psalms and throughout the bible is filled with prayer scriptures to encourage us along the way. It is also filled with words of wisdom, correction and guidance that lead us down a path of righteousness. This post is a cry that I am experiencing today. It is my heart's plea and prayer to know him more. I pray that it will be your desire today as well. Let us continue to find in the scriptures his strength for the journey, and a resting place on the road that we must travel. As we travel the zigzagging roads--may it lead us to truth, which is Jesus Christ.  And, let the pathway that we set for our loved ones and others, become a landmark of his faithfulness in their lives.  My simple prayer: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that I will never lose sight of why I was created. I was created to praise and honor YOU. I was created to give you praise in the good times. I was created to give you praise in what appears to be bad times. I was created to give you praise in times when I don’t “feel” like it. I was created to worship you in the seasons when I don’t see tangible results. I was created to honor you in times when I want to give up, when I’ve had enough and when I just don’t understand. But you are with me. Oh Lord, you are an awesome God! You are the great I AM.  Lord, you are forever on the throne and you are FAITHFUL. Therefore, I will not lose sight.

I will not allow the old nature (man) spoken of in Ephesians 4:22-24 dictate to me the excellence of my Holy Lord. “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”. But, rather I will put all my trust and confidence in you. Lord, I will trust you with my life. I will trust you in times of uncertainty, in weaknesses, in hurting and in pain. I will trust you. I rededicate my life to you today. I’m repentant that I have loved others more than you. "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:37. Your word says that it is your goodness and mercy that leads us to repentance. Because of your goodness and mercy, I repent for believing in the lie that you were not able to help me. I repent for placing my trust in what I see. I know that as I repent, I am forgiven and your light will shine salvation in my heart. “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death”. Oh Lord, there is no darkness in you, there is only but light, life and truth. May we pursue to praise, worship and glorify your name, not only in song but with our lives. May we continue to obey you Lord--Let all who confess in your name gain an intimate relationship as they seek your face  and honor you more. Forever worship!
