A Simple Prayer...

Each new day, my heart's desire is to be closer than before. Today, I must return to the secret and intimate place of "knowing" Him. Therefore, I will worship by declaring a simple prayer. Dear Lord, my heart has wandered away from you, and I'm asking that you turn my heart back as an intercessor. Lord, it's my earnest desire that you open my eyes of faith and reveal your light of truth as I seek you. Help me to let go of the past successes and failures I have no strength apart from you.  It is not my desire to lean to my own understanding, but to lean on your strength. Let me not make excuses for the weakness that I see.

Rather, let me exchange the weakness for complete dependence on you. Let this mark the beginning of a new day, this hour this moment I turn away for all that has distracted me from you. And, I turn my heart back towards the things of God by quality time spent. As I seek the kingdom and his righteousness... you will make a way through the overwhelming tasks that I must take on.  I know that you will provide the strength needed as I come. So today, I come. Father, I come asking that you quench the thirst in my soul with fresh water to drink from the spring of living water. Overflow my heart with praise to honor and worship you. I worship today by saying: Turn my heart, turn my heart, turn my heart oh Lord, like rivers of waters to my eternal King. Let all who seek to obey you do the same. Foreverworship!
